Meet your customized genome engineering kit.

Onyx Genome Engineering Kits are customized for your experiment and leverage our patented Onyx chemistry to enable precise editing of the entire genome, and accurate tracking of the edited cell population. Design and order your kit from our portal and three weeks later receive your ready-to-use library of up to 10,000 Design DNAs and all consumables and reagents ready to load onto the Onyx Instrument.

Thousands of edits in a single tube.

In a traditional CRISPR experiment, one edit is performed per well and multiplexing is not an option. Onyx removes this limitation by linking the gRNA with the donor template, enabling multiplex experiments with up to 10,000 edits in a single tube!

One Design DNA per cell.

Donor DNA template, gRNA, and barcode are linked in a single unique Design DNA. Each transformed cell receives only one Design DNA, generating one edit per cell.

One cartridge per experiment.

One ready-to-use cartridge contains up to 10,000 Design DNA, enabling massively parallel cell library generation in a single Onyx engineering run.

One tube. Thousands of Onyx edits.

The Onyx cell library obtained at the end of the run contains millions of cells with thousands of complete and intended edits.

Want to use your own strain?

With the Onyx Platform, you have the option to use your own E. coli or S. cerevisiae strain. Using the Strain Assessment Kit, it’s simple to assess the compatibility of your strain with the Onyx.

Evaluate your strain’s compatibility with the engineering process.

Perform an Onyx genome engineering run using the Onyx Strain Assessment Kit.

Assess edit performance in your strain using Inscripta’s Genotyping Assays.

Multiplex your CRISPR edits.

Onyx Design DNA contains all components required to perform your genome-scale engineering experiments. Each Design DNA is composed of gRNA-Donor DNA-Barcode, MAD7® nuclease, and repair proteins. Inscripta’s proprietary high-efficiency editing process is entirely controlled by the Onyx Instrument with minimal human intervention.
